Valentine’s Day this year was spent differently as there was no chance for a holiday getaway or having a restaurant booked for dinner at your favourite spot, but love was still in the air. I know Valentine’s Day is over but that doesn’t mean you can’t still show your other half some love, and yes ladies you too! You can do amazing stress-free things whilst making your other half feel loved. Everyone has different love languages, but romance is nearly everyone’s love language. I am going to share with you some of my ideas.

I am foodie and I love food, food is my love language. I love trying different things and going to different restaurants, in 2021 I really want to try new restaurant’s and food with my boyfriend, but a lot of things have changed. But, one thing I found which be amazing and

intimate would be a private cater coming over to our house and cooking a three-course meal with cocktails throughout the dinner. There are so many amazing caterers who offer these services during lockdown and still stick to the government guidelines. Here are few of my favourite Instagram’s, Stfoodies who offer luxury Caribbean food and cocktails from £150 plus.

Chefdairies who offer African food as well as other luxury cuisines such as his amazing pan Fried Duck spiced with Juniper berries fresh rosemary ginger and garlic, pomme puree, parsnip puree, maple roasted chantey carrots and honey ginger and garlic glaze, my mouth is watering even typing this, his food is just to die for. Available for brunch, lunch and dinner. Romance has no time, remember that! My top favourite is MsJoyceK, offering worldwide cuisines, this woman can cook everything. With a team to offer decoration, table set up and a three-course meal with cocktail, wine, and champagne service all in the comfort of your own home. There are a variety of meals to choose from such as teriyaki salmon with steamed broccoli sat on seaweed, stuffed seabass with sweet potato fries and mixed salad to lobster and steak and vanilla cheesecake with strawberries. I am definitely going to need to book her soon for our 10-year anniversary. This can be a very special and quite expensive but worth it.

You can also have an indoor picnic, the fact that you are at home, you have so much more food options than if you are outside. With amazon selling cheese board sets with cheese, meats, wine and knives included. You can either buy it or make it yourself with three five cheeses recommended and different textures too. I am a such a cheese person, I am into my mature cheddar, mozzarella, red Leicester and many more. You can add your favourite things to this like olives and grapes. You can also add your favourite takeaway but it’s best to choose a takeaway that you don’t have a lot of but love, like a seafood boil or even cook yourself what you like best. Choose some good movies based upon what genre you are into, I am so obsessed with movies so anything will do expect horror (well depending on what time it is, not the night). Listen to music, make a playlist and just talk, if you are an individual who enjoys poems, write them a poem or song. It’s really down to what you prefer.

My final and favourite idea is an indoor spa day, during lockdown a spa day or weekend is needed. Your mental health is important and this is good for that. So, find your best moisturising lotions or even order a spa kit. Ritual kits are one of the best and one my favourites especially the calming collection which is £39.90 including the Ritual of Jing Foaming Shower Gel, the Ritual of Jing Mini Fragrance Stick, the Ritual of Jing Body Scrub 125ml and the Ritual of Jing Body Cream 200ml. You can give each other massages and facials. Enjoying a hot bath with bath bombs and a chilled glass of wine and calming music, this gives you guys some isolated time alone, just the two of you.

A few other ideas you could try is an at home cinema experience, games night and even homemade cocktail class at home or even making homemade sushi, food making is very fun. You could also try a ‘sip and paint’, painting drunk or tipsy is a different level of fun.

Romance is something you need to keep the love alive so why don’t you try some of these ideas or even come up with your own personal one. Just remember Valentine’s Day is just one day where you can spoil and treat your other half, but the romantic gestures shouldn’t stop there.
